Terms of Use and Disclaimer
These terms govern use of Xexle HashCheck, a public hash lookup service that checks hash strings and limited metadata. HashCheck does not request or receive file contents through the public lookup API.
Service Purpose
HashCheck is provided as a free technical tool for hash-based file checks, abuse prevention workflows, research, platform safety operations and related lawful uses. The service is not a law-enforcement database, legal determination system, or substitute for professional legal, compliance or investigative review.
Acceptable Use
- Use HashCheck only for lawful, safety-oriented, operational, research or compliance purposes.
- Do not use HashCheck to evade detection, test illegal material, validate abusive workflows or assist unlawful activity.
- Do not overload, scrape, bypass cooldowns, rotate IP addresses to avoid limits, or interfere with service availability.
- Do not submit data that you are not legally allowed to process, store or share.
- Do not submit false, misleading, malicious or harassment-oriented hash reports.
Hash Meaning
A hash match is a technical signal only. It may indicate that a hash is known, reported, validator-submitted or service-listed. It does not by itself prove that a file is illegal, criminal, harmful, authentic, unchanged or associated with any specific person. Users are responsible for their own review, classification, escalation and legal compliance.
User Submissions
Hashes submitted without a validator token are treated as user-submitted records and are not verified. Xexle may review, ignore, remove, limit, relabel or block user-submitted records at its discretion. User-submitted hashes must not be used as a verified blocklist or as proof of wrongdoing.
Validator Submissions
Validator access is limited to trusted organizations or users approved by Xexle. Validator tokens are confidential and must be used only on secure server-side systems. Validators are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to submit and use each hash, that submissions are accurate, and that any restricted source terms are followed.
Restricted Hash Sources
Do not use HashCheck to publish, redistribute or expose restricted official hash lists or technical elements obtained from organizations, governments, partners, hotlines or databases under controlled-access terms. If a source limits how hash values may be used or shared, those limits must be followed. HashCheck may refuse or remove submissions where source rights, authorization or public-use permission are unclear.
Reporting and Preservation
Some jurisdictions impose reporting, preservation or escalation duties when a provider obtains actual knowledge of suspected child sexual exploitation or other illegal content. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory reporting, preservation, cooperation with lawful process, or other duties required by applicable law.
Privacy and Operational Data
HashCheck may process operational data such as IP addresses, request timestamps, cooldown status, blocklist status, validator activity, submitted hashes and technical logs for security, abuse prevention, service operation, legal compliance and audit purposes. Access to operational data should be limited to authorized personnel and retained only as needed for legitimate operational or legal purposes.
Service Limits
HashCheck may throttle, block, rate-limit, disable, modify or discontinue access for security, abuse prevention, legal, operational or compliance reasons. API behavior, limits and response formats may change as needed to protect the service and comply with law.
No Warranty
HashCheck is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Xexle does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, current, suitable for a particular purpose, or that any hash result is legally or factually conclusive.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Xexle is not liable for losses, claims, damages, decisions, investigations, business interruption, data loss, false positives, false negatives, misuse of the API, user submissions, validator submissions or reliance on HashCheck results. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Legal Compliance
Users must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, sanctions, court orders, platform rules and third-party source terms. Xexle may cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities and may preserve or disclose information when required or permitted by law.
